This summer a large group of Catenian Caravan Fellowship members gathered at Rutland Caravan and Camping Park for the 2018 rally and AGM

“The venue is a large Caravan Club-affiliated site and the facilities are excellent,” said Secretary Tad Jandzio. “Once settled, we put up our hub and welcomed everyone with drinks and nibbles. The new events shelter hub has proved a great place to gather each evening.”

On Friday morning a large group of campers went for a walk through the beautiful countryside and enjoyed lunch at Greetham Valley Golf Club before the heavens opened.

“We booked a meal at the golf club on Saturday evening and the club provided transport to and from the venue, which meant there were no worries about drink driving,” explained Tad. “Some family members joined us, the food was excellent and we had a fantastic evening.”

On Sunday morning the party attended Mass atSt Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oakham before the AGM. During a successful meeting, new officers and committee members were elected and next year’s programme was discussed.

Tad told Catena: “The Catenian Caravan Fellowship is not just for caravans, it’s for anyone who likes camping and includes motor homes and tents. We’re coming to the end of this year’s rally programme but next year’s is being put together. One of the venues will have glamping units available, so even if you don’t have a caravan, motor home or tent, you are still most welcome to join us.

“We strive to get value for money so your minimum payment for membership is soon returned. We are always looking for new venues with good amenities: nowadays electric hook-ups are becoming more of an essential.

We are promoting family values, and sons, daughters and family members are all welcome to join us. Please keep checking the website for next year’s programme.”
